There are a few different types of AIR MILES® Reward Miles™, so let’s dive right in first with the Miles you earn:
💲 Base Miles 💲
These are Miles you earn just by using your AIR MILES card on eligible purchases at participating partners, in-store, or through airmilesshops.ca, when you meet the minimum spend requirements. Each partner has a different minimum spend, which you’ll see on their Partner page at airmiles.ca.
➕ Bonus Miles ➕
This is how you can earn some serious Miles. Bonus Miles are what you get when you take advantage of the many offers you’ll see online, in-store, and in the app. Sometimes you’ll need to activate an offer ahead of time.
How do I earn?

Ok, so this is exciting—there are 6 ways to earn Miles!
But, for now, we’ll stick to the basics:
🛒 In-Store
The original way to earn. Simply make an eligible purchase (ensuring you meet the minimum spend), scan your digital AIR MILES card in the app or physical card during check-out at a participating partner and voila, you’ve earned Miles! Your new Miles will appear in your account in around 60 days*.
FYI: If you’re earning on fuel and paying at the pump, just swipe your card at pump or key in your collector number. If you’re paying in store, just scan your card at check-out.
🖱️ Online through airmilesshops.ca
Who doesn’t love the comfort of shopping from home? On airmilesshops.ca, you can get Miles while you shop at your favourite online stores and it’s so easy to use:
- Sign in to airmilesshops.ca
- Choose a store and click ‘Shop Now’
- Shop and check out—that’s it! Your new Miles will appear in your account in around 60 days*.
Most participating stores give you 1 Mile for every $20 you spend before taxes and shipping but be sure to double-check the requirements for each store. Keep an eye out for any Bonus Miles being offered as well.

🌟 Try stacking
There are always plenty of offers available, take full advantage of them by stacking multiple eligible offers together to earn even more Miles.**
🤩 Look for multipliers
These are a way to really rack up your Miles. Watch for multipliers like 5x, 20x, or even 30x Miles in the app or your inbox.
